A Fine Array of Cakes – and all for MacMillan Cancer Care

There are around 2.5 million cancer sufferers in the UK, a figure that is increasing all the time – in fact, an estimated 1 in every 3 people will face a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime.  MacMillan’s aim is to ensure that no one has to face the fight against cancer alone; since the very first Coffee Morning in 1990, the charity has raised a staggering £165.5 million towards medical, emotional, practical and financial support, as well as campaigning for better cancer care.

The West Grantham Academies Trust hosts a Coffee Morning every year – staff rooms at St John’s and St Hugh’s are stuffed full of cakes and biscuits made by our staff, all available to gorge on for a donation towards MacMillan!  The running total at St Hugh’s this year so far is £168.82 – thank you to everyone involved, in particular to Miss Blakey for organising this great event again.
