From Rio to Tokyo with Sam Ruddock

Paralympic track and field athlete Sam Ruddock visited the West Grantham Academy St Hugh's on Thursday 27 April, delivering an inspirational assembly about his journey to the Paralympics in Rio and the forthcoming games in Tokyo.

Sam represented Great Britain in the F35 classifiaction for athletes with cerebral palsy of the lower limbs and visited St Hugh's as part of the ongoing Inspire+ initiative to drive sporting participation within the academy.  Sam, who is the current British record holder for shot put in his classification, encouraged all students to ask for help where required and work hard to reach their goals at school and beyond.

We would all like to wish Sam well in Tokyo and look forward to welcoming him again in the future.
