We have been mentoring year 7 and 8 students every Tuesday and Thursday morning during registration.

During this time year 10 and 11 students work with year 7 and 8 students to help improve their maths skills.  We do this by looking at their gap analysis and working with the students’ maths teachers.  We discuss the work we should do with the students with the teachers and use iPads as a resource to deliver the work.

The peer mentoring programme is proving to be successful as the student levels have increased and they have also gained in confidence.

During the peer mentoring sessions we also discuss school life with the students and areas they may be struggling in to help support them.
