We are all very proud of Ivan Szabo, who recently formed part of the guard of honour for the Duke of Rutland and his guest, Emma Ellis at Belvoir Castle.

The Duke and Emma Ellis were revealing their new book, The Resolution, based upon detailed archives held at Belvoir Castle, and drawing on a wealth of primary research.

The Resolution charts the lives and fortunes of two eighteenth century aristocratic brothers, Charles and Robert Manners, orphaned sons of the Marquis of Granby and grandsons of the 3rd Duke of Rutland, against a backdrop of the American War of Independence and the political crisis that surrounded that conflict.

The Executive Headteacher for the Trust, Mrs Susan Dench said, 'We are incredibly proud of Ivan to have been invited to this prestigious occassion.  Ivan is a great ambassador for St Hugh's; he is hard working, diligent and polite.  He had attended a special maths programme prior to this event , demonstrating his commitment to both his own learning and his wider social contribution.'
