On Tuesday 31 October, we held our first Resilience Day. The day started with an assembly for the whole school ,where the meaning of resilience and the aim of the day was explained to the children using some short video clips. The children were then sent off to start their activities with their new mantra "Try, try again!"
A range of new and exciting activities were planned for the day and the classes went around each activity having a go at them all, not giving up until they had successfully had an attempt! The activities included rock climbing, caving, archery, marching, camouflage, team tasks, shelter building, an assault course and first aid.
It is safe to say the children and staff had a fantastic day; they are still talking about their experiences! The day proved very successful and the children showed great courage, determination and resilience throughout, even with the constant rain in the morning. They should all be extremely proud of themselves!
On Friday 10 November, the Grantham Journal featured our children taking part in Resilience Day in a whole-page picture feature. You can read the article here, and see the pictures below.
