The learning support team is made up of a variety of staff in a variety of roles. As such we can offer many different interventions. The Learning Support room is a spacious and calm learning environment which many students access. We also have a quiet room – “Chillax” which allows students who need a short respite from the hustle and bustle of the academy due to the nature of their need. Currently we are able to offer The Social Use of Language Programme (SULP), Read Write Inc. Fresh Start, Beat Dyslexia, Maths for Life, Handwriting, literacy support, numeracy support and from September 2017, KS4 Foundation Learning. This is an exciting time in the development of the Learning Support team with new skills being brought in all the time.

If there are any complaints relating to the provision for pupils with SEND these will be dealt with in the first instance by the SENCo and Executive Headteacher. In the case of unresolved complaint the academy will follow its complaints policy procedure. If the complaint relates to a child who has an Education and Health Care Plan, or is Looked After by the Local Authority and there is funding from the LA to support this plan, then the LA may have their own complaints policy.
