The children at St John’s are assigned within one of four houses:
Children can gain points for their house in a wide variety of ways, including: achievement, attainment and showing exemplary manners and behaviour. Children undertake competitions throughout the year too for their team with running totals are kept.
The team with the most house points at the end of the year receives the House Point Cup.
Each house is named after a house of the monarchy. The house system promotes a sense of belonging within that of the St John’s community and encourages competitiveness and determination to achieve. They recognise the contribution of their attributes in a wider sense.
Each house has two house captains from Year 6. These children are selected by staff in recognition of their attitude and attributes that they bring to the academy.
